An evocative subject interpreted by S. R. Dickie, William Herberholz, Shari Kaufman, Denise Takahashi and Hannah Voss. S.R. Dickie, well-known for her often surprising whimsy has created three dimensional mixed media representations of a family portrait; mixed media artist William Herberholz assembles new suggestive visions from found objects and vintage tin; Shari Kaufman mixes her media in augmented ceramic forms; pure realist painting by Denise Takahashi brings our favorite classic puppets to life; and Hannah Voss’ enamels reflect her vision in glossy, intense color.
sarili cycle: a dialogue of love | Guest Gallery
Featuring contemporary art by five local Filipino Artists, curated by Jamie Ardena. This is a visual conversation on the concept of love in the journey of understanding self. From personal to political, community to humanity, earth to universe, the various ways in which we come to see a reflection of self is part of an essential transformative dialogue on love. This body of work reveals different perspectives from five artists, Ruby M. Aquino, James Lawrence Ardeña, Rodney Camarce, Cesar Cueva, and Maya Santos who have come from a similar experience of learning and expressing love through a lens of community.
