Elizabeth Halfacre

I received my BFA from Wright State University (Dayton, Ohio)  and MFA from Indiana University. During the summer of 1973, I attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute (when they still had a program for visual artists) taught by Gabriel Laderman. I started teaching studio and art history classes in 1974.

I returned to school in 1992  to study graphic design and illustration and received a Certificate in Advertising Art from Seattle Central Community College. I began working as a freelance illustrator-- my clients include the Pacific Science Center and the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. My illustrations have been published in the Seattle Times Pacific Magazine, Seattle Homes & Lifestyles Magazine, Sagewoman Magazine and the Women Artists Datebook (1999 & 2008)  produced by the Syracuse Cultural Workers.

I returned to teaching and fine art; I teach drawing and graphic design at Shoreline Community College, Natural Science Illustration for the UW Extension Program and watercolor painting for the Seniors Making Art Program. I work primarily in mixed media collage and exhibit my work in the Puget Sound area.
