I love flowers and gardening
and for the last few years have painted many flowers.
But for years I did no flowers because most were too
sweet and pretty. I finally decided that since I spent
so much time with them I had to try to find a way to
do flowers that I liked. I have done that, but am always
looking to improve.
I have a degree in painting for the University of Texas
at San Antonio and also studied art at several other
schools in Texas.
Growing up in the Southwest and living near Mexico
was a strong, early influence on my work. I like bright,
rich colors and use many transparent layers of paint.
My work includes painting, drawing, and collage and
I combine all of these in some pieces.
I am currently working on several series.
